The EU poultry market is seeing a growing demand. In the USA, the government launched program combined with export demand has lead to an almost 300% increase in the price of frozen chicken leg quarters within a span of 2 months.

The European Commission proposed a new, single framework for the promotion of agricultural products on the internal market and on third country markets. Under two existing Council Regulations, Member States may carry out promotional measures for certain agricultural products both on the internal market and on third country markets. These measures are co-financed by the EU budget up to 50%. The aim of these schemes is to boost the image of these products in the eyes of costumers.

Russia

Russia is the largest country in the world – it is 70times the size of Great Britain, and nearly twice the size of the United States.
With 145 million residents across 11 time zones, Russia has a diverse economy and tremendous natural and human resources.

The general economic improvement in Russia in the past six years, following the 1998 financial crisis, has led to increased consumer spending and growth of demand for consumer products.
The consumption is buoyant, as many Russians showed and increased willingness to spend in an effort to regain their pre-crisis living standards. Consumers in Russia are extremely price sensitive. Brands and private label products are developing more extensively, but they need to be very competitively priced.

In addition to the enormous size of the market itself, the good location and historic traditions puts our office in Russia in leading position to channel the trade with the neighbouring countries - Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine, the Baltic States (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania), the Caucasus (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia) and the Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan).

Although Russia remains a relatively difficult market in which to do business, long-term market potential merits interest by major international exporters not only in the meat sector.
