With its
population of 22 million and its strategic
location in Southeast Europe, Romania is the

privatisation program and its recently acquired
NATO membership (since 2004) all point to a

its relations with both Europe (joining the EU
in the beginning of 2007) and the US (Most Favoured
Nation Status in Trade).
The Romanian
government is making an intensive effort to
upgrade its legislative, regulatory and fiscal
standards to the level set by the EU, aiming at
quick accession in the EU community and
markets.
EU membership means that reduced
customs rates and non-tariff barriers will
facilitate exports to and imports from the EU
nations and the closest neighbouring countries –
Bulgaria, Serbia, Hungary, Ukraine and
Moldova.
Free trade agreements were
concluded with Turkey and Moldova, as well as a
number of bilateral agreements concerning trade,
avoidance of double taxation and mutual
guarantees of investments, marking the way for
foreign financial inflows and increasing trade
opportunities.

COMPANY
ACTIVITIES:
Our Romanian team is
comprised of more than 100 people catering to the
needs of more than 400 clients amongst which big
supermarket chains, big manufacturers,
wholesalers and retailers as well as small meat
processors. Our activities are supported by a
logistics set-up including cold stores in
Constanza free trade zone and Bucharest. This
ensures the country-wide distribution of the
full range of products comprising our group’s
product portfolio.
We are already well
among the leading companies in the meat trade
business in Romania. |
