The EU poultry market is seeing a growing demand. In the USA, the government launched program combined with export demand has lead to an almost 300% increase in the price of frozen chicken leg quarters within a span of 2 months.

The European Commission proposed a new, single framework for the promotion of agricultural products on the internal market and on third country markets. Under two existing Council Regulations, Member States may carry out promotional measures for certain agricultural products both on the internal market and on third country markets. These measures are co-financed by the EU budget up to 50%. The aim of these schemes is to boost the image of these products in the eyes of costumers.

Bulgaria

Bulgaria's commercial setting offers political stability, strong economic growth and stability, strategic location and low costs. While the domestic market is relatively small, Bulgaria is an excellent launching pad for sales into the neighbouring Balkan counties (Albania, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Kosovo, Romania, Greece and Turkey).

A member of NATO since 2004 Bulgaria joined the European Union in the beginning of 2007.

Bulgaria`s integration into the EU market resulted to strenthening of the intra-regional cooperation and greater exploitation of the forein/domestic markets commercial potencial. Meanwhile the imports from Southern America have declined due to the high import duties.

By means of attracting foreign investment and liberalization of trade, removal of internal trade/tariff barriers, macroeconomic and financial stability, speeding up of the privatisation process and increased economic growth, Bulgaria covers the EU admission criteria for market economy and ability to withstand the competition pressure within the single EU market.

Bulgarians eagerly accepted the greater access to the EU, American, Canadian and Brazilian goods and there are exellent opportunities for those companies willing to enter and develop these market potentials.
